🐴 The Love of Horses, A Family Story
“I was probably put on a horse before I could even walk,” Nikki recalls with a nostalgic smile. As a child, she spent hours in her grandmother’s stable in New Mexico, climbing fences as if they were Everest.
Raised in an equestrian environment, she initially practiced classical riding, but it was by discovering the soul of the western lifestyle that she found her path: the connection with the animal, the community, the traditions… and the love for craftsmanship, particularly the turquoise jewelry her grandmother collected.
💍 BaYou With Love: Sustainable Fashion, Nikki Reed Style
In 2017, she launched her own ethical jewelry and lifestyle brand: BaYou With Love. At first, she offered multi-use apothecary products, but very quickly, a call changed everything.
“Three months later, Dell contacted me to find out what to do with the recycled gold from computer motherboards. I immediately thought of jewelry.”
The result? An unprecedented collection of recycled gold from technology. Since then, Nikki has continued to push the boundaries of sustainable creation, especially with her line inspired by the Wild West. Unique pieces, handmade in Los Angeles, that blend modernity and tradition.
🌊 Nature, Her Greatest Source of Inspiration
While Nikki shines in Hollywood, her heart belongs to nature. “Art is nourished by presence and calm. And nothing makes me feel more present than being with a horse or walking barefoot in the earth,” she shares.
Water is also a central symbol in her creations: “It is gentle yet powerful, feminine yet untamed. It perfectly reflects the spirit of the West.”
👩👩👧👦 A New Life Away from Hollywood
With her husband, Ian Somerhalder, and their two children (an 8-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy), Nikki has left Los Angeles to settle on a farm, deep in nature.
“The entertainment world has given us incredible opportunities, and I will always be grateful for that. But today, I find my happiness in running my businesses, raising my children, and living in line with my values.”
And even though she doesn’t see herself returning to the camera right away, she doesn’t completely rule out the idea of a comeback. 🎥✨
